Висят 14 заданий по 3,5 дня расчётов

Это очень странно. Какая ошибка пишется в логе BOINC-клиента? Сетевая активность самого клиента BOINC, случайно, не заглушена?

Здравствуйте! Любопытно, сколько пользователей отказалось от вычислений.
РАЗРАБОТЧИКИ, очнитесь, сознайтесь, убиваете проект

На данный момент посчитано более половины этих тяжёлых задач, да и сами задачи ко второй половине стали заметно легче.
Производительность проекта выросла раза в полтора. Чтобы не получать задания именно от этого приложения с большими заданиями, нужно сделать несколько щелков мышью. И всё. Думаю что все, кому они мешают - это сделали и помогают проекту считая задания от других поисков.

Any chance of making multi-core tasks? I've got 24 cores on four of my machines. I could get through these much faster.

The best multi-core task - is the task splitted to other tasks. :)

Task pause is not equal to task interruption. Especially if you set appropriate settings in BOINC Manager.

Hi! When granted credit is proportional to amount of calculations, for each computer granted credit = run_time / k. But k are different for different computers. :)

Наличие или отсутствие интернета при выполнении вычислений ни на что не влияет. Просто самая долгая часть - где-то после 80%.
Например, прямо сейчас, у меня на компьютере:
Процент | Время
_______ | ____
87%     | 33 часа.
....
97%     | 93 часа
...
93%     | 97 часов
....

И если пробовать наблюдать за процентом выполнения за последней стадии, но недолго время, то, его изменение, конечно, будет казаться линейным.

Из 4-ёх задач пытаюсь закончить три, каждый день считаю по несколько часов. Сначала выключал, потом заметил, что время счёта каждый раз обнулялось, пришлось переводить в спящий режим. Последние несколько дней - никаких результатов, время вычислений увеличивается, но проценты и время до конца не улучшаются. Задачи застыли на 84%, 78%, 69% (последние 13 часов вычислений), иногда проценты со временем наоборот немного уменьшаются, а время до конца увеличивается. Похоже на баг и придется после нескольких дней вычислений оставить попытки досчитать.

В силу ограничений связанных с самим поиском, процент выполнения изменяется нелинейно. Чем ближе к 100%, тем медленнее он нарастает. Но, всё же, не асимптотически. >:D.
На Ryzen 3900X на одно задание уходит от 3 до 5 суток.
Если для вашей машины это проблема (например, если её надо выключать), то можете просто отключить получение заданий к этому приложению. Другие - тоже важные. :)

If you mean a workunit (result) status on project web-pages - dont' worry, simply compute it to the end. Duplicate task added to the end of tasks queue and will be sent to other computer after tasks which placed in queue before it. In reality of this bunch of tasks - after several weeks. When your task has been completed, duplicated task will be dropped from queue.

And for new tasks deadline was extended to 10 days.

Пояснить длительность - вполне можно. :) Данный эксперимент является последним в целой цепочке, в которой использовались приложения с очень похожим (или даже одинаковым) алгоритмом. Длительность заданий - росла и для этих заданий она достигла наблюдаемых величин. Если конкретно в этом поиске будут ещё какие-то вычислительные эксперименты то для них будет использоваться уже другой алгоритм. Сильно другой.

Соответственно, обработку вот этой партии из ~23664 заданий можно было выполнять двумя способами:
- Уже существующим приложением, "здесь и сейчас";
- Специально для этой партии переделывать приложение (и когда на это хватит времени - неясно), причём в дальнейшем оно, возможно, вообще никогда бы не пригодилось.

Да, задания длинные. Но 865 из них - уже посчитались, осталось ещё 22799. :)

Если компьютер надо время от времени перезагружать, то на время обработки этого пакета задач, проще отключить использование приложения "Spectra of Latin squares". На сервере есть и много других. :)
В этом пакете они действительно получились очень большие, дальнейшие эксперименты в этой области будут связаны с другим подходом.

Up to 435773.60 for Ryzen 3900X with usage of 18 threads. Deadline for new tasks extended up to 10 days. By fact, for already sended tasks it also more that 1 week due to nature of tasks queue.
