2 Hour Deadline
(Message 2009)
Posted 26 May 2025 by Mr P Hucker Post: Any chance of making multi-core tasks? I've got 24 cores on four of my machines. I could get through these much faster. |

2 Hour Deadline
(Message 2008)
Posted 26 May 2025 by Mr P Hucker Post: Task pause is not equal to task interruption. Especially if you set appropriate settings in BOINC Manager.Indeed, set tasks to stay in memory. I have to do this for the rather dodgy coding of Climate Prediction. |

2 Hour Deadline
(Message 2007)
Posted 26 May 2025 by Mr P Hucker Post: I don't really give a F if they are short. A 2 hour deadline means BOINC Mgr will interrupt ALL other task to run it. Some projects do not have any checkpoints and hours of work could have been wasted for 2 min of Rakesearch work. No deadline should be less than several days. That's the fault of the non-checkpointing projects. |

Rakesearch continues running when Boinc pauses it
(Message 2004)
Posted 19 May 2025 by Mr P Hucker Post: Rakesearch is continuing to use a CPU core while Boinc paused it, this interferes with my GPU tasks, which are not getting data supplied fast enough by the now overly-busy CPU. The task running is "Spectra of Latin Squares" |

Gridcoin?
(Message 1802)
Posted 8 Jul 2023 by Mr P Hucker Post: As per https://gridcoin.us/wiki/whitelist-process.html#information-for-project-admins "The first step is making sure you as the admin of the project want to be whitelisted. If you, somewhere public you should say that you were interested and a date when they would want this to happen (anywhere that someone could check such as project forums, Reddit, etc). Following this, find someone to make a poll for you on Gridcoin. Lastly if the community votes votes “yes”, then you get whitelisted." So this is somewhere public I guess. State when you would like it to happen. I'm guessing as soon as possible? Then Mikey, could you start a poll since you have the coins? |

Gridcoin?
(Message 1795)
Posted 6 Jul 2023 by Mr P Hucker Post: I thought all that's required is you have a steady flow of work (I believe the requirement is credits awarded every day for the past 40 days, and Boincstats shows you're achieving this). They also don't let you in if there is a possibility of cheating and earning gridcoins you're not entitled to, which I think means you have to have something unusual in the credits system like LHC, which I think gives you points per CPU time rather than work done. People were fiddling it by making their machines look like they had more cores than they had. But AFAIK your project just awards per task completed, which should be fine. Then you need someone with at least 100K gridcoins to start a poll, and provided most people vote yes (I see no reason they wouldn't), you're in. Mikey has 100K coins. |

Stats Export
(Message 1794)
Posted 6 Jul 2023 by Mr P Hucker Post: It's not set up, I look at it manually when I happen to get to it. Depends what else I'm doing and when I get up. Other projects must be doing it multiple times a day. Any chance of twice a day? P.S. the email notifications aren't working. Are they broken at your end? If not what email address do they come from so I can whitelist it in my ISP's spam filter? |
