Dear participants,

due to the problems with app_version, the tasks received by BOINC clients will probably crash. If you experience the errors, we kindly ask you to cancel them and reset the project. New tasks are being generated with new attributes and should work fine. We increased the estimated flops and the upper bound of flops to avoid errors "Exceeded elapsed time limit".

Also, we are sorry that on October 10 the project server was unavailable because of unplanned power cuts.

We are grateful for you patience and support!

Just the v7 tasks or the older v6? I have some of both in Linux. All but one v6 task has validated so far.

Only v7 tasks! V6 work slower, but are more reliable.

Mainly v7. But in some cases, all would works fine for v7 and conversely, you may get an errors for v6. If computations runs without any errors, you do not have to do anything.

Should I reset the project at this point? Only a handful were completed without error.

Happy to help, I'm usually right behind the initial wave of beta testers like zombie67 and Mumps. I misread your original post, didn't catch the reset reference.

Thank you very much, Paul!

If I understand right, to you computer 800 mapped 939 phantom tasks, received by computer an 10th of October. I set deadline for them on midnight from 13th-14th October. After several hours them to be marked as "Not reported" and server generate a new 939 tasks instead of them.

The last several v6 tasks spent like a day at 100% so I aborted them.

Ok. In rare (but realistic) cases checkpoint file may be corrupted due to power outage (or other situation) and this task can be dropped or manually restarted as described in this thread - Task progress and run time. But new application is faster and in this situation task cancelling is a rational action.

Thank you for chunching!

Crunchers,

Some computers generate too much errors and "blocked" many tasks (because it received them but not compute succesfully). I temporary blocking sending task on them and change deadline of tasks on 2017-10-15 06:00:00 UTC.

This action returned more than 900 tasks into the queue.
Temporary blocked hosts is: 904 (PhilTheNet), and 776, 720 (Mumps [MM]).

I hope that crunchers will reset projects on this hosts and a I will "unlock" them.

Also we works on other ways to solve of this problem.

Thank you for participation!
Happy crunching!
