Last year a Belgian threw down the gauntlet (Belgian waffle ;-) suggesting that my random FB switching among the smaller teams to give them a boost was hurting their team's standing. Ok, so this year I found my team and I'm sticking to it. Now I'm throwing down the gauntlet for Team AnandTech in League One. Winter is Coming :-) TA will need all the team switching they can muster if they want to be on the FB 2021 podium.

I think bunkering can be eliminated if there is no forewarning about Sprints. When they're announced they begin. Problem solved.

For the record, there is a substantial amount of work still in progress holding up other people's already completed work. This seems to be being held by some high core-count machines that only recently registered. It's become known that Team Anand Tech uses a tactic of collecting as much work as possible at the beginning of a sprint with no intention of completing it but rather just denying other teams the opportunity of earning the credit, and then simply aborting it after the sprint is over. For regular volunteers of this project this is probably more of a minor inconvenience since you'll get your work units back for re-issue. It is however dirty play and disrespectful of both the project and the intent of the Formula Boinc competition.

I'm curious how this has "become known" since it's absolutely not true.

The first part, that we try to grab as much work as possible at the beginning of the sprint, absolutely IS true. That's pretty much the point of the sprint - to do as much work as possible in a short amount of time.

The second part, claiming that there is no intention of completing the work, is laughably false. All you have to do is look at the sprint stats to see that it's not true. http://formula-boinc.org/sprint.py?sprint=14&lang=en&year=2020

In the current sprint, it would be impossible for TeAm Anandtech to have roughly as much credit as ALL other participating teams combined if we weren't returning the completed tasks. And In fact, in most of the sprints, other larger teams usually end up grabbing a lot more work than we do. We just got lucky with the timing on this one. But it all gets returned before the sprint deadline. Add to that, if we were actually holding on to uncompleted work just for "denying other teams the opportunity of earning the credit", then there would be a lot more than 1500 pending tasks still out there, when there were just under 60,000 tasks downloaded in the last few days and almost all of them have been returned and validated. https://rake.boincfast.ru/rakesearch/server_status.php

You start again !!!
To Remember, "belgium waffle" is the name you have used after pirating my team !!! Yes YOU Mr
You have abuse my team to send insult to Scientist abusing my name.
After some contact with admin of Rake (Hoarfrost) i could give preuve I was not !!!
NOT START AGAIN !!!

Now you attack AnandTech. Or at least send suspicions. After the first post here, i have analazed Anand, user by user. All is normal. Only one user is hidden.
And a second perhaps bunkering. Of course with all your monster, you not need bunkering. One day for a mid range user, is in one hour by you done !!!

Be assured, I track "abnormal" changes. Everywhere in our league. I also know the power of my little team.
I also know the power your team (you are the only powerfull with your eight hundreds cores and about one hundred GPU)
Next year, you will go to first league. Normally my team too (if you not change of team).

By the way, this year 2020, your team have do as good as nothing nothing here on Rake (only in Sprint). Your tactic. I have no any problem.

I repeat. I do not want to bring above water your attacks of the past two years.
Since begin of 2020, you crunch, you take point everywhere you can. It are the rules.

Have a nice day and stay carefull on Covid.

To everyone, i send my appologyzes. My message is totally out of original subject.
@hoarfrost . I am sure you understand my reaction. You perfect know the origin, reasons.
Happy crunch everyone. And once again be very carefull on Covid.
Day after day, I follow accuratelly some country. It is my job. Stay safe.

Hi

Whilst I'm not 100% in agreement with some of Dark Angels accusations I will offer this:

As soon as the Sprint project was announced, I allowed 2 of my hosts to accept new tasks from Rakesearch and over the weekend, the limited number of tasks I got (288 to be precise) have all been uploaded EXCEPT for 15 which are currently "Pending".

A quick check on these found that everyone of these 15 ALL have the same wIngman !!.

A further check found that this host downloaded 375 tasks soon after the project was announced...

That same host still has 374 tasks "In Progress" and only 1 was uploaded at 27 Aug 2020, 22:18:56 UTC - that one task is "Pending" and all other tasks are still to be uploaded.

Unfortunately, the Owner is "Anonymous" (no doubt due to GDPR regs) so it could be anyone on any team...

I would conclude that this host is controlled by someone on a Sprint team and that for some reason, possibly a completely innocent reason, all but one task are sitting in a buffer, waiting.

Why this should be, I cannot know...but it does seem strange as those 375 tasks are probably worth about 18,000 credits - enough to have changed some team positions on the final league tables..

Perhaps other members who have an interest, might want to check their "Pending" tasks list and see if they too are waiting for ONE host to validate most/all of their pending tasks.

regards and stay safe
Tim

It seems that the host who specifically downloaded 375 RakeSearch tasks just after this Sprint started (starting at 26 Aug 2020, 22:08:35 UTC), only completed ONE task (which was uploaded 10 minutes after the first task downloaded) but every one of the remaining 374 tasks were NEVER completed and EVERY ONE timed out on 2nd Sept 2020

The offending host is this one:

https://rake.boincfast.ru/rakesearch/results.php?hostid=13345

It makes my blood BOIL that a fellow Sprint member has perhaps on purpose prevented 374 wingman tasks from being credited DURING the Sprint (though the tasks have been sent out again and my 15 pendings have all now be en credited - but mine and others credits were not counted during the Sprint, so our respective teams lost out).

If anyone can do some digging and find out who they are, I'd appreciate it....

stay safe
Tim
