Dear folks!

Many computers with different CPUs perform calculations in each volunteer computing project, and a pair of results for each workunit gives information about the relative computing power of two "processor threads". Consequently, any project with data about successfully processed and verified results is a deep lake of information about CPUs. We tried to make a tool that turns this data into a more usable form and added a page with a comparison of CPU of an indicated computer with CPUs of computers that it faced during results validation.

We placed a "Compare" link in tables with a list of computers and onto the page with computer detailed description.
Comparison page contains two tables: the first table with data about the performance of a single thread and the second table with that converted into data about the overall performance of a computer considering the number of threads of computer CPU(s). Notice that most of the servers have two or more CPUs and, correspondingly, the number of threads reported by BOINC client and displayed into the table is larger than a number of threads of a single CPU in the appropriate number of times.
And, of course, this comparison is based on computing of RakeSearch application, with small consumption of RAM and usage of integer variables exclusively. But many other business workloads operate mostly with integers as well.

We hope that this data can be of help in some cases or can be interesting.

Thank you for attention to the project and participation!

Isn't this similar to what what the WUProp@Home is already doing?

At first glance, no. Our statistics page make a comparison by data directly from the project database - this data allows to make a more precise comparison. For example - run time for tasks from different workunits of RakeSearch project can be varied in ~20 times, and stats only from BOINC clients, without matching of results from one workunit not allowed to get exact values of CPU performance. But WUProp gathers a big amount of other useful statistics.
