There are many open problems connected with squares of orders 9 and 10. Some of them may be implemented in separate searches inside one project. Several plans under discussion but several technical goals need to be achieved for their realizing.

Not so far, my rough estimate is that with new optimized app released yesterday search for rank 9 will be finished this year, probably sometime between 6 and 9 months from now. Both numbers are based on assumption that during last 8 days (since creation of this thread) project progressed by something between 1% and 1.5%, and new app is 30% faster.

BTW, do you have example of rank 10 pair? My app is not ready for rank 10 yet. I would like to fix it, and need some test data to make sure it will work properly.

Hypothetically speaking, far far into the future, do you plan to continue this to higher rank (beyond 10)?. I would imagine that base on the result collected, are your team planning to establish a theorem for this, confirm certain mathematical properties, proof a certain hypothesis, conjecture or purely for data collection?

The main goals of current search are:
1. Checking whether a "permutational pairs" of ODLS of Rank 9 exists;
2. Checking that these pairs be a pointers to a variety structures of ODLS;
3. Searching for structures of ODLS;
4. Gathering statistics over data from results and e.t.c.

Of course, search of "permutational pairs" over a part of space of Rank 10 - is very interesting. And many other good ideas exists, but between idea and result there is a large space of work spread.
When we have a news about a real progress and achievements, of course, we will place it on the first page of project website. :)

I am not a guru of GPU computing, but if I understand right, combinatorial tasks cannot be places in GPU easily, due to its architecture and with high probability cannot be processed with efficiency like "true GPU algorithms" with highest parallelism.

At night from 2 to 3 March I performed a data archiving and change some counters, which reflects this procedure - only at morning of 3rd. Now counter of progress is correct.

Almost 79% completion. That's a 9% gain in 12 days. Ok the sprint accelerated the completion rate.

Like to hear if there is a definitive plan to continue the rank 10 search.

At the start of the sprint, completion was at 75.6 %.
This works out to 0.6 % per day during April so far (I suppose this is quite a bit higher than in March), and >1 % per day during the sprint.

Yes. We are preparing the first part of experimental tasks for rank 10 in collaborance with the authors of Gerasim@Home who explore them. Maybe we try to perform a search over a small fraction of squares of rank 10.
