Profile: Stephen Uitti

Your personal background.
SETI@Home user since September 1999. Feels like a different millennium.
I contribute to quite a few projects. I recall contributions with 486, Pentium II, Athlon (32 bit), Phenom II (64 bit - since 2010), and Raspberry Pi.
Also GPUs: GTS 250, GTX 650ti and GTX 950. I highly recommend doing this. Many have a modern Intel or AMD with on-chip video, and don't use it. BOINC lets you set it so the GPU is only used when the system has no input.
I help produce a free monthly half hour astronomy TV show, Astronomy For Everyone, since 2009.
Your opinions about RakeSearch
The new optimized applications are incredible, on x86, and Raspberry Pi.
Could a GPU app be written? I have no idea.
The relatively new language, Julia, can produce binaries for GPUs. The language syntax is closer to math than most other languages. I'm not an expert.
